Abstract
In the digital age, social media has emerged as a transformative force in the domain of international relations. This paper explores how platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have reshaped diplomatic practices, enabling states to engage in digital diplomacy, public diplomacy, and real-time crisis communication. Social media has allowed world leaders and foreign ministries to bypass traditional media, directly influencing global narratives and public opinion. While offering opportunities for transparency, engagement, and influence, it also introduces significant challenges including misinformation, diplomatic missteps, and cyber threats. Using India as a case study, this research highlights the strategic use of social media in promoting soft power and managing international outreach. The paper concludes that while social media enhances diplomatic reach and responsiveness, its responsible and strategic use is vital to maintaining global stability and credibility
