ABSTRACT

This research explores the intricate world of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in cyberspace and the metaverse, looking at the difficulties brought about by the advent of the digital era and new virtual settings. The article addresses IPR infringement by critically analyzing the current legal system, which includes copyright, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets, with an emphasis on India. A comparative study with many nations sheds light on various legal philosophies. The research assesses how well regulations work and how they affect IPRs associated to the metaverse. A thorough analysis is conducted of the potential remedies, which encompass both criminal and civil actions. In order to strengthen the protection of IPRs in the constantly changing digital world, the article concludes with enduring issues, projecting future trends, and making proposals for legislative changes and international collaboration.
